God is _____

The following is a fairly comprehensive list of verses that describe God’s character. I have tried to include only verses where the term is used as the name of God or God is said to be that trait. ‘God is light’ and ‘You are merciful’ are clear examples of this.

However verses that describe God’s action are excluded.  For example, ‘God is holy’ is included but the ‘holiness of God’ is not.  ‘God is love’ is included but the ‘Lovingkindness of God’ is not.
