Salvation is from the Lord

Psa 21:1 NKJV  To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. The king shall have joy in Your strength, O LORD; And in Your salvation how greatly shall he rejoice!

Psa 25:5 NKJV  Lead me in Your truth and teach me, For You are the God of my salvation; On You I wait all the day.

Psa 27:1 NKJV  A Psalm of David. The LORD is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid?

Salvation is received by faith in God’s mercy

Righteousness comes from the Lord

Although these towns were ultimately destroyed, the Lord was willing to show them grace at Abraham’s request

King Ahab

1Ki 21:25-29 NKJV  But there was no one like Ahab who sold himself to do wickedness in the sight of the LORD, because Jezebel his wife stirred him up.  26  And he behaved very abominably in following idols, according to all that the Amorites had done, whom the LORD had cast out before the children of Israel.  27  So it was, when Ahab heard those words, that he tore his clothes and put sackcloth on his body, and fasted and lay in sackcloth, and went about mourning.  28  And the word of the LORD came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying,  29  “See how Ahab has humbled himself before Me? Because he has humbled himself before Me, I will not bring the calamity in his days. In the days of his son I will bring the calamity on his house.”

Nineveh

Jon 3:10 NKJV  Then God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God relented from the disaster that He had said He would bring upon them, and He did not do it.
